Responsibilities

Provide financial analysis and strategic support for Corporate Finance initiatives, including M&A, capital structure optimization, pension strategy, and other capital deployment opportunities. Support executive leaders at General Dynamics’ corporate headquarters (a strong and lean office of less than 150 individuals) and senior leaders at our 10 global business units (where the remaining 100,000+ employees work) to drive financial excellence and informed decision-making.  The ideal candidate will possess a blend of financial analysis, strategic thinking, and relationship-building capabilities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sophisticated financial analysis to support corporate finance transactions and strategic initiatives
  • Lead M&A evaluations, including complex valuations, due diligence coordination, and negotiation support
  • Develop and execute capital structure strategies for General Dynamics’ short-term and long-term debt
  • Pension strategy analysis, including relationships with OCIOs and actuaries for funds exceeding $10 billion
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • 10 years of relevant experience in M&A, FP&A, capital markets, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or CPA certification
  • Extensive experience in M&A and valuation
  • Demonstrated understanding of how business transactions impact and flow through the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong focus on accuracy and process optimization
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be willing to work at the General Dynamics' Corporate Headquarters Monday through Friday and in emergency situations as needed
