Responsibilities

The Security Program Principal is uniquely positioned with responsibilities spread across the scope of the Corporate Security Office (CSO). Under the strategic direction of the Director of Security, the Principal will lead, manage, and/or collaborate with relevant stakeholders on all CSO’s strategic priorities including assisting BU security programs, as needed. The Principal will facilitate alignment through cross programmatic collaboration. The Principal will conduct background research, analyze information, and develop recommendations to inform leadership decisions for a wide range of issues impacting the CSO’s strategic plan.  In this role your responsibilities include the following:

      

Administration:

  • Develop and execute CSO’s strategy, budget, operations, and administrative functions under the Security Director’s direction and in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the planning and execution of CSO events and meetings.
  • Conduct internal inquiries, prepare appropriate reports in relation to these inquiries and devise measures to protect against such events in the future.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors on large investigative, analytic, and monitoring projects.
  • Make recommendations of appropriate and required security measures, techniques, and methods to assure and improve the protection of personnel, activities and facilities of the organization.
  • Attend relevant industry events and threat briefings.
  • Develop law enforcement and vendor relationships to facilitate improvements to security programs, leveraging contacts and technology.

Awareness

  • Develop and drive strategic initiatives related to the awareness program.
  • Research, organize and publish regular open-source security awareness products for executive leadership across the enterprise to include the Board of Directors.
  • Research, organize and publish daily open-source security awareness products for security leadership across the enterprise.
  • Disseminate unclassified government and industry reporting to relevant stakeholders across the enterprise.

Insider Threat

  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives related to the Insider Threat program.
  • Plan, develop and manage the corporate responsibilities for the enterprise Insider Threat Program under senior strategic direction.
  • Monitor and respond to stakeholder feedback and advance and drive clarity on program objectives.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders on the production of informational materials such as whitepapers and primers.

Protective Intelligence

  • Collaborate with designated stakeholders to assess the risk to assets and implement processes to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Track current events in real time and prepare alerts and/or event-driven briefs for the ELT.
  • Directly participate in the development and implementation of security plans in support of company special events.

Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO)

  • Participate in facility self-inspections and assist General Dynamics business units (BUs) as required.
  • Perform security functions such as inspections, identification of vulnerabilities, and risk assessment for review.
  • Develop/prepare and/or modify, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) or other Security Plans.
  • Support the development of an ongoing security education program for the various constituencies.
  • Oversee all NISP activities in absence of the FSO.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience Requirements:       

  • BS/BA degree with 6 years relevant experience or the equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • Proof of regular and continued refresher training in security-related disciplines.
  • Prior leadership or management experience preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Due to the nature of work performed in this role, qualified applicants must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance within a reasonable amount of time. Additionally, the individual may be required to obtain access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must possess demonstrated ability in the following:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and possess the ability to collaborate and work effectively with people at all levels with proven conflict resolution skills.
    • Attention to detail and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
    • The ability to manage multiple, changing priorities and competing deadlines.
    • Help leaders determine links between organizational culture, strategic initiatives, and talent.
  • Must be fully proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint.
  • Must be willing to work in the General Dynamics Corporate Headquarters office Monday through Friday during regular business hours and after hours and in emergency situations as needed.
